Senior Customer Engineer, SLED West (California or Arizona)

Location: 100% remote, but residence in California or Arizona is required. An in-person interview at a hirify.global office or hub may be requested at the offer stage.

Estimated annual compensation: $231,000–$290,000+ OTE for San Francisco-based hires; $221,000–$267,000 OTE for Los Angeles-based hires, including base salary and commissions.

What you will do

• Lead technical discovery, solution architecture, product demonstrations, and proofs of concept across security, networking, and developer platform products.
• Partner with Account Executives to manage customer discovery, onboarding, technical health, risk, and expansion strategy.
• Support adoption and resolve integration bottlenecks in municipal and educational IT infrastructures.
• Own technical relationships with public-sector stakeholders from onboarding through renewal and expansion.
• Carry a variable quota and identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities based on product usage data.
• Use AI agents and internal platforms to automate RFP responses, security questionnaires, sandbox provisioning, and telemetry monitoring.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with or selling into SLED, local government, or municipal agencies.
• Experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Solutions Engineering, Customer Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Forward Deployed Engineering.
• Broad expertise in web security, routing, DNS, DDoS mitigation, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise architecture.
• Experience in quota-carrying or revenue-aligned environments, with knowledge of SaaS metrics and public-sector sales cycles.
• Strong presentation and stakeholder-management skills, including communication with government executives and elected officials.

Nice to have

• Experience with Workers AI, AI Gateway, or Vectorize.
• Knowledge of prompt engineering, LLM orchestration, or RAG architectures.
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or similar languages for integrations, API connectors, and edge functions.
