Process Engineer (Evaporator)

Location: Heerenveen, the Netherlands; regular travel required, with approximately 20% of the time spent on-site.

Develops, engineers, and commissions cheese and powder production equipment and process solutions for the food industry.

What you will do

• Design, specify, and calculate costs for equipment quotations and projects.
• Define equipment functionality and calculate optimal sizing for mechanical equipment, piping, and pumps based on process requirements.
• Develop P&IDs and manage process design in collaboration with project team members.
• Write component specifications and assess supplier progress and component quality.
• Present process designs to market companies and customers while supporting commercial quotation activities.
• Commission installations with automation engineers and site teams, and troubleshoot issues in the field and during production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Technology, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in an industrial environment.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong knowledge of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics.
• Strong planning, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.

Nice to have

• Experience in the dairy, food, or process industry.
• Knowledge of Dutch.
