Facilities & Capital Projects Manager (Manufacturing)

Location: On-site at the manufacturing facility in Glen Cove, New York, United States

Salary: $160,000–$190,000 per year, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Own the facility roadmap, including campus expansions, tenant improvements, infrastructure upgrades, and the transition to a 200,000+ square foot manufacturing operation.
• Lead construction and capital projects from scope definition and bidding through permitting, contractor management, commissioning, and close-out.
• Manage schedules, milestones, budgets, risks, stakeholder communication, and the facilities capital budget across multiple concurrent projects.
• Prepare facilities for new manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, surface finishing and painting, and potential molten metal casting, with appropriate utilities, ventilation, drainage, and workflow.
• Develop the facilities team, coach the existing facilities associate, oversee maintenance and service vendors, and establish scalable staffing and performance practices.
• Own construction and facilities partner relationships, EHS compliance strategy, permitting, regulatory coordination, and production uptime across industrial and office spaces.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience delivering industrial or manufacturing construction projects, including significant owner-side experience.
• Track record of delivering multiple concurrent projects on time and on budget, including capital projects of $5M or more.
• Fluency in construction contracts, including GMP, lump sum, and T&M, plus change orders, bid leveling, and contractor negotiations.
• Experience with heavy industrial processes and their MEP requirements, including machining, painting/coating, casting, HVAC, compressed air, and utility systems.
• Working knowledge of OSHA standards, building codes, fire and life safety systems, environmental permitting, and architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
• Experience managing and developing people, with strong communication skills across tradespeople, contractors, engineers, and executives.

Nice to have

• Experience taking a manufacturing facility from lease or shell through fit-out and operations.
• Familiarity with spray booth design, VOC permitting, and NFPA 33 compliance.
• Experience with cleanroom or controlled-environment facilities at ISO 6–8.
• PE, CCM, PMP, or CFM credential.
• Experience in a high-growth manufacturing or robotics company.
