Project Manager, External Manufacturing (Robotics)

Location: Wilmington, Massachusetts, USA; hybrid work arrangement. Up to 10–15% travel to client and customer locations may be required.

Salary: $101,000–$138,600 base pay annually, plus medical, dental, vision, disability, 401(k), PTO, and other benefits.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end execution of manufacturing and retrofit programs across contract manufacturing partners.
• Develop schedules, milestones, and deliverables while coordinating Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing Operations, and Asset Management.
• Coordinate manufacturing readiness and production ramp activities, tracking KPIs and schedule adherence.
• Identify risks, constraints, and dependencies; maintain RAID logs and develop mitigation and recovery plans.
• Prepare executive dashboards, status reports, and steering committee materials for senior leadership.
• Build scalable program management processes, governance frameworks, and continuous improvement practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of project or program management experience in manufacturing, automation, robotics, industrial equipment, or related industries.
• Experience with contract manufacturers and external suppliers, including knowledge of manufacturing processes and production operations.
• Ability to manage complex cross-functional projects, schedules, risks, dependencies, and multiple workstreams.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive or fly to client and customer locations.

Nice to have

• PMP certification.
• Experience with retrofit or NPI programs and manufacturing readiness reviews.
• Proficiency with Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Jira, or Confluence.
