Senior Engineer, Industrial Engineering (Manufacturing)

Location: Yonezawa-shi, Yamagata, Japan; onsite at the Yonezawa manufacturing facility

hirify.global operates a manufacturing facility producing membrane, liquid filter, gas filter, injection molding components, and dispense pump products.

What you will do

• Lead process improvement initiatives to increase productivity and operational efficiency.
• Analyze production data, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions related to yield, capacity, reliability, quality, energy, and cost.
• Design and optimize factory layouts, workflows, work procedures, and production processes.
• Lead annual plant-wide cost-saving activities and monitor Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery KPIs.
• Support process design and implementation during new equipment introduction and provide operator training.
• Collaborate with production, process engineering, product management, and continuous improvement teams on capacity planning and strategic projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of industrial engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
• Proficiency in time studies, line balancing, and other industrial engineering tools.
• Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English; TOEIC score above 500.
• Strong accountability, collaboration skills, and the ability to drive projects to completion.

Nice to have

• Experience in global manufacturing environments.
• Project management experience.
• Experience in the semiconductor or pharmaceutical industry.
• Knowledge of Excel VBA or Power BI for data analysis.
• Experience with Toyota Production System Kaizen activities or a Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification.
