UX Designer (Fintech)

Location: Bucharest, Romania; hybrid work with 6 days a month at the office

SS&C Technologies provides financial services software and outsourcing solutions, with this role based in its Calastone business unit, which operates a global funds network for secure fund transaction and data exchange.

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end UX design process from discovery and user research through wireframing, prototyping, high-fidelity design, and engineering hand-off.
• Translate business and user requirements into personas, journey maps, user flows, information architecture, and intuitive user experiences.
• Conduct user research and usability testing to validate and improve digital products.
• Create interactive prototypes and production-ready UI designs using Figma and other UX tools.
• Build, maintain, and document a scalable design system and reusable component library.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders, managing design estimates, walkthroughs, and delivery across multiple projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Design, Service Design, Graphic Design, Software Engineering, Behavioural Science, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience as a UX or Product Designer delivering enterprise web or software applications.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating direct contributions to enterprise software or complex digital products.
• Proficiency in Figma and other UX design tools.
• Strong knowledge of user research, usability testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic evaluation, information architecture, interaction design, accessibility, and design documentation.
• Experience establishing design systems, producing clear specifications, and collaborating with software development teams.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of WCAG 2.1/2.2 accessibility standards.
• Understanding of modern front-end technologies and their impact on UI implementation.
• Experience designing products in the financial services industry.
• Experience with AI-assisted design tools such as Claude and Figma Design Agent.
• Experience using analytics and user behaviour data to inform design decisions and measure UX outcomes.
