Lead Tritium Fuel Cycle Engineer

What you will do

• Lead the specification of tritium fuel cycle equipment, including exhaust gas processing, storage, and fueling for the Alpha stellarator.
• Develop and manage industry contracts and partnerships necessary for fuel cycle delivery.
• Establish tritium accountancy frameworks, including the quantification of permeation and retention.
• Technically lead modeling, testing, and prototyping to validate fuel cycle system designs.
• Provide expert input on tritium containment best practices for the Alpha safety case.
• Build and lead an innovative team while fostering strong external supplier collaborations.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of fusion fuel cycles, including tritium gas exhaust processing, separation, and containment.
• Proven success in procuring and commissioning tritium-related equipment.
• Experience developing and owning tritium accountancy frameworks.
• Ability to validate fuel cycle systems through simulations, testing, and prototyping.
• Strong leadership skills for managing multidisciplinary technical teams in dynamic settings.
• Must be able to work on-site in Munich or Oxford.
