Associate General Counsel (Renewable Energy)

Location: San Francisco, United States; on-site

Salary: $175,000–$230,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Provide strategic and tactical legal counsel to sales, engineering, manufacturing and supply, and customer support teams.
• Review, negotiate, and execute a broad range of commercial agreements.
• Advise on intellectual property, privacy and security, supply chain, M&A, and project finance matters.
• Support negotiation strategy while helping maintain efficient legal department administration.
• Collaborate with teams across the organization and report directly to the General Counsel.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in the California Bar in good standing.
• 8+ years of experience as a practicing attorney, including 3+ years at a U.S. law firm.
• Significant experience with commercial agreements and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Nice to have

• 3+ years of in-house counsel experience.
• Experience developing and managing intellectual property portfolios.
• Proficiency with Ironclad or another contract management platform.
• Experience with hardware manufacturing, supply chain, SaaS, or customer support teams.
• Knowledge of electricity distribution grids, utility regulation, virtual power plants, or AI-related legal matters.
