Legal Engineer (AI)

Location: New York, NY

Estimated base salary: $150,000–$225,000 per year, plus equity and bonus.

What you will do

• Support GTM activities across pre-sales, POCs, pilots, closing, and post-sale adoption, while contributing to product, partnerships, and marketing.
• Build consultative relationships with law firm partners, associates, and in-house patent teams across technology, pharma/biotech, and enterprise organizations.
• Lead discovery sessions, tailored product demos, trainings, and 1:1 education for legal and executive audiences.
• Work with Product and Engineering to troubleshoot customer use cases, guide roadmap priorities, support development, and conduct release testing and QC/QA.
• Act as the voice of the customer by synthesizing feedback and translating patent-practice needs into product and GTM decisions.
• Drive pilots end-to-end and partner with Marketing on accurate messaging, decks, case studies, and whitepapers.

Requirements

• JD or equivalent legal qualification, with the ability to engage credibly with senior attorneys and in-house counsel.
• 5+ years of IP attorney experience at a top-tier law firm or sophisticated in-house team, including patent prosecution and/or IP litigation.
• Deep fluency in patent workflows, including prosecution, portfolio management, due diligence, validity/invalidity, and infringement/non-infringement analysis.
• Strong executive presence, customer engagement, facilitation, presentation, discovery, whiteboarding, and product demonstration skills.
• Extreme ownership, product mindset, clear communication, and effective collaboration with Sales, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Partnerships, and Customer Success.
• Curiosity and sound judgment regarding AI in legal workflows, together with outstanding written and verbal communication.

Nice to have

• USPTO registration.
• Customer-facing or commercial experience, such as law firm business development, secondments, training and enablement, or direct client relationship ownership.
