Head of Legal (AI Security)

Location: On-site at the San Jose, California headquarters, United States

Salary: $180,000–$250,000 per year

What you will do

• Advise the CEO, executive team, and Board of Directors on legal matters and corporate governance.
• Lead negotiations and management of commercial, licensing, vendor, and partner agreements.
• Support IP strategy and portfolio management covering patents, trademarks, and trade secrets.
• Design and oversee compliance programs covering product compliance, export controls, data protection, and employment law.
• Manage cybersecurity controls, identify legal risks, and structure transactions including financings, M&A, and strategic partnerships.
• Oversee international subsidiaries and branch offices, including local governance, filings, labor relations, security, facilities, and vendor matters.

Requirements

• Substantial experience representing technology companies.
• Extensive experience in corporate governance, compliance, contract negotiation, risk assessment, and regulatory law.
• Strong knowledge of intellectual property law and IP portfolio management.
• Experience overseeing international subsidiary legal and business affairs.
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and bar membership in good standing with eligibility to practice law in California.
• Ability to operate as a hands-on player-coach across multiple functions in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment.
