QA Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid, San Francisco, California; two days per week in the San Francisco office

What you will do

• Own quality strategy across multiple products and engineering teams.
• Design, build, and maintain automated test suites for web applications, REST APIs, backend services, and integrations.
• Develop scalable testing frameworks integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
• Define test plans, acceptance criteria, and release readiness for product initiatives.
• Perform exploratory, functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Monitor production quality metrics, investigate customer-reported issues, and mentor engineers on testing practices.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in quality assurance or quality engineering.
• Experience building automated testing frameworks for modern SaaS applications.
• Experience testing REST APIs and microservice-based architectures, including YAML-based testing.
• Proficiency with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or a similar automation framework.
• Ability to write automated tests in TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Java, or C#.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD, Git, GitHub Actions, SQL, debugging, and root-cause analysis.

Nice to have

• Experience testing AI or machine-learning-enabled applications.
• Healthcare software or regulated-environment experience.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, cloud-native architectures, performance testing, load testing, or security testing.
• Experience with workflow automation platforms, enterprise SaaS, or observability tools such as Datadog and Grafana.
• Startup experience.
