Quantum Scientist - Experimental

Location: Cambridge, UK; hybrid. Occasional travel within the UK and Europe is required.

Salary: £70,000–£108,000 per year, depending on experience. Part-time applications are also considered.

hirify.global develops quantum error correction technology and partners with quantum hardware providers and government agencies to advance fault-tolerant quantum computing.

What you will do

• Design and execute quantum computing experiments with partners across the UK and Europe using hirify.global’s software and tools.
• Support the deployment of quantum applications and quantum error correction solutions in partner environments.
• Analyse experimental results, diagnose issues, and collaborate with research and product teams on solutions.
• Contribute to internal research projects in quantum computing and quantum error correction.
• Present results at customer meetings, workshops, conferences, and internal sessions.

Requirements

• PhD in Physics, Experimental Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Research experience in quantum computing gained in academia or industry.
• Experience designing, running, and analysing experiments or simulations using research-grade tools.
• Interest in quantum error correction and applying research in real-world settings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical presentations or discussions.
• Ability to collaborate with customers, partners, and interdisciplinary internal teams.

• Experience in quantum error correction research.
