Senior Director, Project Team Leader / Executive Committee Business Manager (Biotech)

Location: San Francisco Bay Area, CA; salary range specified for Redwood City, CA

Salary: $313,200–$401,500 annually for the Project Team Leader scope

What you will do

• Lead matrixed teams across discovery, preclinical, clinical, and CMC functions to advance therapeutic programs.
• Guide programs from preclinical proof-of-concept through clinical trials and regulatory filing.
• Develop and present strategic options covering timelines, target product profiles, costs, risks, and acceleration opportunities.
• Manage stakeholder communication, governance, technical discussions, and executive recommendations.
• Oversee Executive Committee agendas and minutes, ensuring decisions are accurately documented and communicated.
• Build and execute contingency plans to mitigate development risks.

Requirements

• Ph.D., M.D., or Master’s degree in life sciences, or a Business/MBA degree.
• 15+ years of experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, including at least 4 years in project leadership or program management.
• Proven experience moving drug development assets through research, IND-enabling studies, and clinical studies.
• Experience managing executive-level committees and interactions.
• Deep experience across target validation, drug discovery, and clinical trials.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, executive presence, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience using AI tools in drug discovery and development to optimize timelines and data interpretation.
