Specialist, Material Planner (Automotive)

Location: Blythewood, South Carolina, United States; 4–5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings and occasional travel.

Salary: $95,000–$120,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Develop, implement, monitor, and optimize material planning concepts, delivery programs, production programs, and supplier-to-production material flows.
• Manage material availability and logistics for parts with low safety stock, high procurement risk, or high value.
• Identify supply chain risks and bottlenecks, coordinate countermeasures, and monitor parts inventory.
• Resolve JIT process issues and coordinate the accuracy and stability of related IT processes.
• Establish cooperative supplier relationships and coordinate with Purchasing on capacity, demand, quality, model changes, and new vehicle launches.
• Develop emergency procedures for material shortages and coordinate technical changes, run-in/run-out parts, logistics optimization, and production-material flow.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience in automotive production and logistics, including inbound or outbound logistics, supplier management, container management, JIT, or JIS.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• Experience in automotive logistics supplier management, particularly JIS processes, is preferred.
• Strong technical skills in networking, hardware, software systems, and process design.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
• Ability to work onsite in Blythewood, South Carolina, 4–5 days per week and travel occasionally for company events.
