Описание вакансии
Location: Onsite in San Bruno, California, United States; requires approximately 10% domestic and international travel, occasional extended and weekend hours, extended periods standing in a shop setting, and the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
Salary: $130,000–$180,000 annually, plus early-stage equity and company-sponsored benefits.
Company
designs and manufactures power products for the U.S. military and its allies, including systems that decouple power generation from consumption in austere environments.
What you will do
- Conceptualize, design, and develop schematics, layouts, and circuits for low- and high-voltage power electronics and advanced energy storage systems.
- Optimize circuit dynamics, power efficiency, latency, electrical safety, system protection, and abuse-loading performance.
- Run circuit simulations, bench tests, and system-level validation against military and industry standards.
- Integrate electronics with mechanical, thermal, software, and systems engineering, including electrical I/O and firmware behavior.
- Apply reliability engineering practices such as EMI/EMC mitigation, ruggedization, and thermal management.
- Produce technical reports and test plans and support products from concept through field deployment and sustainment.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of end-to-end circuit design, component selection, electrical architecture trade-offs, functional safety, embedded systems troubleshooting, and electronics testing.
- Experience with CAD tools, preferably Altium, and simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, or SPICE.
- Hands-on competence with oscilloscopes, programmable power supplies, analyzers, debuggers, probes, current clamps, test automation, reflow, soldering, and connector integration.
- Fluency with CAN bus protocols, preferably J1939 or CANopen, and familiarity with MIL-STD, DO-160, automotive, defense, or aerospace standards.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and provide proof of authorization within the first three days of employment.
Nice to have
- Experience with low- and high-voltage energy storage, high-current power distribution, and voltage-regulating power electronics.
- Experience with LTspice, COMSOL, oscillations, ringing, ground bounce, and other complex circuit dynamics.
- Experience designing switches, bridges, noise filters, power stabilizers, discharge systems, and electrical-grid endpoint nodes.
- Experience with radiated emissions, RF immunity, broadband amplifiers, antennas, and near-field probes.
- Experience with high-reliability embedded power electronics in austere environments and familiarity with U.S. and NATO operational requirements, especially the Tactical Microgrid Standard.
Culture & Benefits
- Work across multidisciplinary engineering and design teams on mission-critical defense power systems.
- Use first-principles, data-driven problem solving to identify root causes and prevent recurring failures.
- Support peer collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a robust team culture.
- Access early-stage equity and company-sponsored benefit plans.
