- Select power devices and design gate drives, controllers, feedback systems, magnetic components, sensing, and protection circuits.
- Define power-stage topologies, DC-bus architecture, filtering, snubbers, current sensing, safe operating envelopes, and derating.
- Drive thermal design with mechanical engineering, including heatsinks, cold plates, airflow or liquid cooling, and loss analysis.
- Own EMI/EMC strategy, grounding, shielding, PCB layout constraints, conducted and radiated mitigation, and test readiness.
- Lead schematic reviews, prototype bring-up, high-power laboratory testing, failure debugging, verification planning, test reporting, and transition to manufacturing.
Requirements
- 7+ years of power electronics design and product development experience, or equivalent depth.
- Strong experience with power converter and inverter topologies, device selection, gate-drive design, controller selection, feedback stability, protection, and high-voltage/high-current PCB design.
- Hands-on experience bringing up and debugging high-power hardware using oscilloscopes, high-voltage differential probes, current probes, power analyzers, and network or stability analyzers.
- Ability to take designs from concept through prototype, verification, and production readiness with clear documentation.
- U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency is required.
- Ability to comply with applicable aerospace export-control laws and access requirements is required.
Nice to have
