Software Developer - Backend (Go)

Base salary for the San Francisco / Bay Area: USD $148,700–$298,800 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services using Go microservices and cloud-native tooling.
• Lead architectural modernization, monolith decomposition, legacy migration, modularization, and development of reusable service components.
• Own the full system lifecycle, including API design, data modeling, CI/CD deployment, monitoring, telemetry, testing, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
• Define observability standards, telemetry pipelines, fault-tolerance strategies, and production diagnostics for distributed systems.
• Apply AI-driven tools and automation to accelerate development, code analysis, testing, reliability, and performance optimization.
• Partner with product, mobile, and data teams while leading technical discussions and mentoring developers.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in Go and experience architecting modular, maintainable, high-performance microservices.
• Strong background in system design, observability, reliability, performance optimization, instrumentation, SLOs/SLIs, incident triage, and production diagnostics.
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Argo CD, Protobuf, CI/CD pipelines, and auto-scaling architectures.
• Experience using AI and automation to improve developer velocity, reliability, or system intelligence.
• Demonstrated technical leadership through roadmap ownership, multi-team initiatives, mentoring, process improvements, and collaboration with senior product and engineering leadership.

Nice to have

• Experience with PHP for legacy systems.
