Senior Backend Engineer (Golang)

What you will do

• Architect and build high-throughput backend services for real-time operational data.
• Design resilient, event-driven, and distributed systems that are observable and performance-tuned.
• Lead technical design reviews and define stable APIs for internal and external consumers.
• Improve engineering excellence through code reviews, testing strategies, and incident response.
• Partner with product and operational stakeholders to translate mission needs into technical plans.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience building scalable backend systems in production.
• 4+ years of experience in Golang or equivalent server-side languages (Java, Kotlin, C#, Python, Rust).
• Must be a U.S. citizen due to government contract and security requirements.
• Experience designing distributed systems and cloud-native services (AWS preferred).
• Strong security fundamentals including threat modeling and defensible design.
• Proven track record of technical leadership and mentoring engineers.

Nice to have

• Experience with graph databases like Neo4j or AWS Neptune.
• Background in defense, intelligence, or security-focused products.
• Experience integrating ML/AI capabilities into production systems.
• Large-scale data processing (streaming or near-real-time analytics) experience.

Location: On-site in Arlington, VA or New York, NY. Role limited to U.S. citizens.

Salary: $192,000 – $281,000 base salary.
