Developer - Policy Admin Systems (Mainframe Modernization)

What you will do

• Develop and enhance TradV policy administration platforms for life, disability income, and annuity products.
• Modernize mainframe systems and support Mainframe-to-Cloud transitions across hybrid platforms.
• Translate product specifications into scalable system changes and integrate Vantage, wMA, and cloud-based systems.
• Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 production support, participate in on-call rotations, and resolve incidents and performance issues.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent solutions to improve platform stability.
• Support containerization, DevOps, CI/CD adoption, and secure infrastructure enablement with cloud and DevSecOps teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of experience as a senior developer or technical lead.
• At least 5 years of experience with COBOL, Micro Focus COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM, and DB2.
• Experience with CA7, Zena Scheduler, Xpeditor, and Endevor.
• Experience with platform modernization, performance tuning, and hybrid Mainframe-Cloud architectures.
• Ability to collaborate across development, testing, production support, business analysis, product, and architecture functions.

Nice to have

• 8+ years of experience in the life insurance domain.
• wMA or Vantage platform experience.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• DevOps pipeline experience with CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Java/J2EE knowledge, cloud-based mainframe modernization tools, or ITIL, Agile, and mainframe modernization certifications.
