Senior Software Engineer - Hogan (Mainframe)

What you will do

• Design, develop, maintain, and support Hogan IDS, CIS, UMB, and RPM applications and batch processes.
• Build, test, and deploy mainframe code through DevOps pipelines.
• Use z/OS Connect and REST services to deploy API sets and support system integration.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and improve the reliability and performance of mission-critical systems.
• Use IBM zDIH to improve data integration, analytics accessibility, and modernization initiatives.
• Participate in analysis, design, testing, code reviews, architecture discussions, and engineering-process improvements while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree with at least 5 years of systems analysis or application development experience, or a bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• Advanced proficiency in Hogan IDS, CIS, RPM, UMB, JCL, JSCAN, EZTRIEVE, TSO/ISPF Utilities, CA7, FILEAID, XPEDITER, and ABEND-AID.
• Strong understanding of batch processing, data flows, and performance tuning.
• Experience troubleshooting complex issues in large-scale environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• At least 5 years of hands-on Hogan software engineering experience across development and application support.
• Experience with DevOps or CI/CD pipelines for mainframe workloads, including Git, SonarQube, SonarLint, ADDI, or Ansible.
• Familiarity with IBM zDIH or other mainframe modernization and integration technologies.
• Exposure to cloud integration, API enablement, or data virtualization.
• Experience in financial services, insurance, or other high-availability industries.
