Director of Software Engineering, Client Experience (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, California, United States; 2–3 days per week in the office required.

Annual base salary: $245,000–$270,000 for San Francisco residents, plus an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Recruit, lead, coach, and develop CX engineers, engineering managers, and individual contributors.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, and Business leaders to define priorities and deliver meaningful outcomes.
• Drive execution across complex initiatives while balancing speed, quality, scalability, and operational excellence.
• Establish technical direction and guide architectural decisions aligned with long-term business objectives.
• Strengthen engineering practices across software development, testing, security, reliability, and system operations.
• Improve engineering processes, team effectiveness, organizational scalability, and cross-functional alignment.

Requirements

• 8–10 years of software engineering experience with progressive leadership responsibilities.
• Experience leading engineering managers, multiple teams, or large-scale engineering initiatives.
• Proven ability to lead teams through complex technical and organizational challenges.
• Demonstrated success delivering complex technology solutions from concept through execution.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong communication, collaboration, influencing, strategic thinking, and execution skills.
