Senior Director Software Engineering

Location: Remote - Nationwide within the United States. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; visa sponsorship, including CPT/OPT sponsorship, is not available.

Base salary: $151,800–$220,050 per year, with eligibility for a bonus program.

What you will do

• Lead software engineering teams responsible for the architecture, development, implementation, maintenance, support, and enhancement of complex software systems.
• Provide strategic and technical direction across multiple teams, managers, and professional employees.
• Direct the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, documentation, installation, maintenance, and support.
• Set standards for system performance, quality assurance, testing, and technical documentation.
• Manage workloads, priorities, schedules, resources, risks, budgets, and delivery commitments across projects and teams.
• Build leadership capability, manage stakeholder and vendor relationships, and drive accountable execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• Broad technical expertise across software systems, applications, and multiplatform environments.
• Experience overseeing complex software systems through the software development lifecycle.
• Experience managing managers and professional employees, including hiring, coaching, development, and performance management.
• Experience managing project workloads, resources, schedules, risks, budgets, operating costs, and delivery commitments.
• Ability to provide strategic direction, allocate resources, solve complex problems, and hold leaders accountable for results.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in a related systems or business field.
• Ten years of experience, including at least four years directly managing people.
• Experience developing managers, strengthening leadership pipelines, mentoring rising leaders, and improving organizational learning.
• Experience managing organizational risks and aligning systems, services, and resources across complex or global environments.
