TL;DR
Test & Validation Engineer - Drivetrain Controls Systems (Powershift Transmission Controls): Designing, calibrating, simulating, and validating transmission and torque converter control systems for hauling, cycling, and oil and gas applications with an accent on clutch control strategies, machine performance, and drivetrain durability. Focus on executing on-machine software validation, managing control requirements and specifications, analyzing performance data, and troubleshooting technical problems in field, shop, and laboratory environments.

Location: Onsite five days a week in Mossville, Illinois, United States. Domestic relocation is available. Travel requirements are up to 15%.

Salary: $97,530–$146,290 per year.

What you will do

  • Design, develop, and optimize hardware and controls for powershift transmissions in collaboration with design, development, systems integration, and software engineers.
  • Plan and execute on-machine control software calibration and validation.
  • Manage control system requirements, specifications, and design reviews.
  • Design clutch control strategies for drivetrain performance and durability targets.
  • Simulate clutch control systems and analyze data to optimize controls performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or materials science from an accredited curriculum.
  • Experience with product testing, validation strategies, troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and technical decision-making.
  • Ability to manage technical projects and communicate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Ability to work in field, shop, and laboratory environments and operate machines after training.
  • Onsite attendance five days per week in Mossville, Illinois, is required.

  • Experience with controls development tools and processes, preferably powershift transmission controls.
