Sr Engineer, Brake System Development (Automotive)

Location: Novi, Michigan, United States; 4–5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings and occasional travel required

Salary: $130,000–$160,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus

hirify.global is developing electrified pickup trucks and rugged SUVs, including all-electric and range-extender powertrains.

What you will do

• Engineer brake system components and subsystems, including calipers, rotors, hoses, lines, and actuation systems.
• Define and execute DVP&R plans covering component, subsystem, and vehicle-level validation.
• Plan and coordinate bench, dynamometer, environmental, and vehicle testing with suppliers and internal engineering teams.
• Analyze test data, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions for performance, durability, and safety issues.
• Collaborate with vehicle dynamics, controls, manufacturing, quality, supplier development, architecture, and design teams.
• Support prototype builds, serial production readiness, issue tracking, and validation sign-off.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Engineering Technology.
• 8+ years of experience in brake system development, validation, or testing within an OEM or Tier-1 environment.
• Strong knowledge of brake systems, component behavior, validation planning, NVH testing, data acquisition, and data analysis.
• Experience with brake performance, durability, environmental validation, supplier coordination, and vehicle-level testing.
• Ability to manage validation timing, deliverables, issue resolution, and vehicle program milestones.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive and results-driven approach.

• Experience with SUV or truck platforms.
