What you will do

• Own full-cycle recruiting for research and scientific roles across bioengineering, neuroscience, machine learning, engineering, and adjacent technical fields.
• Partner with hiring managers to define role scope, requirements, interview plans, and evaluation rubrics.
• Build targeted sourcing strategies for passive candidates across companies, laboratories, universities, publications, conferences, and research networks.
• Create talent maps covering candidate profiles, relevant companies and labs, and outreach narratives.
• Screen candidates and represent Merge’s mission to senior and highly sought-after candidates.
• Improve hiring quality and velocity through structured processes, data analysis, feedback loops, and recruiting infrastructure.

Requirements

• Experience owning challenging recruiting pipelines end-to-end, including technical, scientific, research, or highly specialized roles.
• Proven ability to source and close passive candidates in competitive talent markets.
• Strong partnership with hiring managers and the ability to clarify ambiguous needs and maintain alignment.
• Deep expertise in at least one relevant scientific or technical domain, with the ability to learn unfamiliar domains.
• Excellent communication with senior, skeptical, and highly sought-after candidates.
• Strong process discipline, sound judgment, and high integrity when representing candidates, compensation, timelines, and company stage.
