Finance Controller

Location: Darmstadt, Germany; responsibility for the German and Swiss branches.

What you will do

• Manage accounting and internal financial controls for the German and Swiss branches.
• Prepare monthly profit and loss statements, balance sheets, forecasts, budgets, reports, and commission statements.
• Monitor cash flow, bank reconciliations, purchase and nominal ledgers, payroll journals, and accounts receivable.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly payroll processing for employees in Germany and Switzerland.
• Support management with results analysis and provide information to tax advisors and external accountants.
• Review procedures and propose improvements that reduce duplication and increase reporting efficiency.

Requirements

• Fluent written and spoken German and English.
• Experience in operational financial management, accounting, reporting, payroll, and reconciliations.
• A certified accountant qualification or similar qualification is desirable.
• Experience with multi-currency systems is advantageous.
• Understanding of data protection, confidentiality, and governance when using AI-supported finance tools.
• Ability to communicate with finance colleagues, employees, consultants, accountants, banks, and professional advisors.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-supported features in ERP or finance platforms such as Workday or Microsoft Copilot.
• Interest in using AI and automation to reduce manual work and improve reporting accuracy.
