What you will do
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of applied AI systems on a distributed AI platform.
- Partner with commercial customers to translate mission needs into technical requirements and scalable solutions.
- Guide training, fine-tuning, optimization, and evaluation of large language and multimodal models.
- Drive architecture for edge inference, distributed processing, privacy-preserving AI, and real-time performance.
- Coordinate execution across multiple projects with Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, and Product teams.
- Build and mentor a hands-on applied AI team and communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in applied machine learning, AI engineering, or a related field, including at least 3 years in leadership.
- Hands-on coding experience, with proficiency in Python and modern ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
- Experience designing and deploying an AI product and building or integrating customer-facing AI systems.
- Strong expertise in LLMs, generative AI, and machine learning workflows.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple high-impact projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
Nice to have
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Experience with distributed systems, edge computing, privacy-preserving ML, or on-device AI deployment.
- Familiarity with MLOps, data pipelines, scalable inference architectures, security, compliance, and data governance.
- Experience working in ambiguous, fast-paced, high-growth startup environments.
