Applied AI Engineer

Location: Palo Alto, United States — hybrid

Salary: $180,000–$250,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop and deploy agentic workflows and automation pipelines, representing approximately 60% of the role.
• Build and maintain production-ready services, REST APIs, and integrations.
• Design, deploy, and scale AI-powered applications across multiple product lines.
• Evaluate and integrate LLMs from OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, and other providers into production use cases.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and design to deliver end-to-end AI features.
• Help build scalable workflow infrastructure supporting more than 100 workflows.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering foundation with solid coding practices and required Python experience.
• Recent experience building AI-powered applications using ChatGPT, Claude, Anthropic, Mistral, or similar tools.
• Hands-on experience developing REST APIs and deploying services to cloud environments, with GCP preferred.
• Understanding of MLOps, model deployment, or workflow automation in production systems.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setup in Palo Alto, United States.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of experience or Master’s degree with 2 years of experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Transition from software engineering into machine learning.
• Experience with agentic workflows, prompt tuning, evaluation pipelines, or automation frameworks.
• Startup experience and a demonstrated ability to ship quickly in ambiguous environments.
• Exposure to both startup agility and big-tech engineering rigor.
