What you will do

• Produce concept layouts, preliminary single-line diagrams, and feasibility studies for early-phase grid-scale battery energy storage projects.
• Support Business Development and Product teams as the technical EPC resource, providing scope boundaries, buildability constraints, cost and schedule inputs, and customer contract exhibits.
• Coordinate civil, structural, electrical, architectural, and fire protection engineering disciplines to establish design bases and assemble concept packages.
• Define permitting and interconnection pathways, timelines, and site requirements covering zoning, stormwater, environmental constraints, noise, security, and access.
• Close information requests, assign ownership, track progress, and surface scope ambiguities and long-lead items.
• Document scope delineation and deliver Basis of Design packages to the detailed design team while managing engineering resources and schedules.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Civil or Electrical, or equivalent experience.
• Deep understanding of grid-scale energy storage technologies and balance-of-plant equipment, including inverters, transformers, switchgear, and fire detection systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical system design, utility interconnection requirements, medium- and high-voltage systems, and utility-scale project execution.
• Familiarity with UL 9540, UL 1973, UL 1741, IEEE, NEC, NFPA, and IEC standards and codes.
• At least 5 years of experience coordinating multidisciplinary scopes in architecture/engineering or design engineering firms is desired.
• Project management or EPC experience with commercial or industrial electrical installations and electricity distribution systems; PE license preferred.
