Senior Electrical Engineer (Power Systems)

Location: On-site in San Francisco, CA or Houston, TX, United States

Salary: $140K–$210K estimated base salary, plus equity; final compensation depends on experience, location, and other factors.

What you will do

• Design high-, medium-, and low-voltage power distribution systems for industrial infrastructure and chemical refining projects.
• Produce and review single-line diagrams, panel schedules, wiring diagrams, grounding plans, conduit and cable schedules, and equipment specifications.
• Perform load flow, voltage drop, short-circuit, arc-flash, and protective-device coordination studies.
• Select electrical equipment, including transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, and UPS systems.
• Develop protection and relaying schemes, coordinate utility interconnections, and support grid compliance efforts.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, vendors, and contractors, and provide field support during construction, commissioning, energization, RFI resolution, and as-built documentation.

Requirements

• 5–10+ years of experience in electrical engineering and design, including brownfield modifications and upgrades and greenfield equipment design.
• Deep knowledge of industrial power-system engineering and hands-on experience with HV, MV, and LV systems.
• Experience with electrical system modeling tools such as ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or EasyPower.
• Familiarity with NEC, IEEE, NFPA 70E, and ANSI/IEC standards.
• Ability to deliver detailed electrical engineering packages, including calculations, technical drawings, and equipment specifications.
• Experience in industrial manufacturing, large-scale mining or mineral processing, large-scale chemical production, or engineering, procurement, and construction environments.
