Director of Technical Accounting & Reporting (Robotics)

Location: Fully remote within the United States, with hybrid options near Salem, Oregon; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; or Fremont, California. Current U.S. work authorization is required.

Salary: $165,000–$258,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Build, lead, and scale the technical accounting and financial reporting function.
• Own technical accounting for revenue recognition, leases, stock-based compensation, valuations, and complex transactions.
• Lead preparation, review, and filing of SEC Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K in compliance with SEC regulations, US GAAP, and XBRL requirements.
• Develop SOX compliance frameworks, internal controls, accounting policies, reporting calendars, and audit-ready technical memoranda.
• Manage external auditors, valuation specialists, technical accounting consultants, tax advisors, and legal counsel.
• Support the NetSuite ERP implementation and implement systems and automation for external reporting and compliance.

Requirements

• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience combining public accounting and in-house public company reporting.
• Direct public company experience with hands-on ownership of SEC filings and SEC compliance.
• Deep expertise in US GAAP, SEC regulations, XBRL, ASC 606, ASC 842, and ASC 718.
• CPA or Chartered Accountant designation.
• Experience managing external specialists, auditors, and consultants under strict deadlines.
• Experience recruiting, hiring, and scaling accounting teams from the ground up.

• Direct exposure to NetSuite environments.
• Experience explaining complex accounting topics to executives and auditors.
• Experience designing internal controls without a dedicated internal audit team.
