Transportation Manager (Logistics)

Salary: $106,060–$120,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead transportation operations at the branch across private fleet, common carrier, and dedicated carrier modes.
• Manage supervisors, dispatchers, drivers, recruiting, retention, coaching, discipline, and payroll accuracy.
• Optimize dispatching, route plans, driver hours, fuel economy, payload efficiency, wait times, and cost per mile.
• Manage route guides, carrier relationships, lane sourcing, on-time delivery, and transportation capacity.
• Maintain capacity for volume surges of up to 20% and coordinate dedicated capacity with regional transportation leaders.
• Manage transportation budgets, P&L, capital replacement planning, procurement bids, and asset utilization initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
• At least 7 years of logistics, transportation, or supply-chain experience.
• Experience managing private fleets, direct and indirect reports, budgets, and P&L.
• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations and strong fleet dispatching experience.
• Experience with multimodal transportation, including TL and LTL, carrier operations, customer service, and regulatory matters.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, collaboration, influencing, and change-management skills.

Nice to have

• HAZMAT and tanker transportation experience.
• Distribution-environment experience.
• Master’s degree.
