What you will do
- Create high-level electrical schematics, vehicle harness designs, and harnessing CAD.
- Transition Rutherford engine harnesses to a new system by creating component libraries, system schematics, and harness drawings.
- Generate, document, and implement system requirements with stakeholders across mechanical design, propulsion, manufacturing engineering, and vehicle integration.
- Support vehicle and subsystem configuration management, avionics component risk analysis, and FMECA.
- Design and build automated test rigs and contribute to full electrical-system test coverage.
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting and production support while collaborating across engineering disciplines.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's, master's, or advanced degree in a relevant engineering program with an electrical background.
- Ability to read, interpret, and create electrical schematics.
- Hands-on experience from engineering project teams, laboratory research, a prior internship, or relevant work experience.
- Self-management, strong communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills.
- Passion for aerospace, space technology, and innovation.
- For New Zealand roles, nationality and background checks are required for access to ITAR-regulated equipment and data; eligibility may depend on citizenship in Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, the European Union, or a NATO country.
Nice to have
- Understanding of instrumentation, interfaces, sensors, power supplies, oscilloscopes, serial devices, switch topologies, accelerometers, thermocouples, RTDs, and 4–20 mA sensors.
- Understanding of circuit analysis, high-level schematics, and system requirements decomposition.
- Familiarity with National Instruments platforms, Altium, and SolidWorks.
