Senior Software Engineer (Frontend)

Location: On-site in Seattle/Redmond, Washington, United States

Salary: $170,000–$190,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Architect and own a shared design system, including component APIs, accessibility, theming, versioning, and developer experience.
• Build a safety-critical Operator UI with live 3D scenes, point clouds, terrain meshes, geofences, machine overlays, teleoperation controls, and live video streaming.
• Develop a multi-tenant SaaS portal with relationship-based authorization, internationalization including RTL, and real-time data.
• Write production-ready TypeScript and React while improving accessibility, performance, reliability, observability, testing, and developer tooling.
• Lead code reviews, design reviews, architectural discussions, root-cause analysis, and cross-functional delivery with design, autonomy, controls, hardware, TPM, and field operations teams.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and raise frontend engineering standards across the organization.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering production frontend systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Design, HCI, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Deep expertise in TypeScript and React, including modern hooks, Suspense, and concurrent rendering patterns.
• Experience with Three.js, React Three Fiber, Drei, WebGL, shaders, GLTF pipelines, BVH acceleration, or point-cloud rendering.
• Experience with real-time data and binary serialization such as Protocol Buffers, gRPC-web, WebSockets, or high-frequency web telemetry.
• Experience with Vite, package workspaces, Storybook, modern testing tools, browser debugging, telemetry, metrics, and tracing.

Nice to have

• Experience with safety-critical or industrial interfaces in robotics, automotive, aerospace, medical, defense, or energy.
• Experience with XState or statecharts, multi-tenant SaaS authorization, frontend infrastructure, CI/CD, Kubernetes, Docker, micro-frontends, OpenTelemetry, or Sentry.
• Comfort working across the whole stack and with TanStack, Zustand, Tailwind CSS, Mantine, or Visx.
