Field Service Technician (Robotics)

Location: Lafayette, Louisiana, United States; extensive travel to customer sites required (75%+ of the time)

What you will do

• Operate, maintain, and monitor multi-robotic welding systems, robotic vision systems, sensors, and specialized manufacturing equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, cleaning, and replacement of mechanical and electrical components.
• Integrate autonomous welding cells into customer manufacturing processes using robotic system integration and communication protocols.
• Inspect welded assemblies, monitor cell performance, manage parts and assembly inventory, and ensure precise part fit-up.
• Use data analysis, command prompts, and code changes to support Forge processes and engineering-driven issue resolution.
• Work directly with customers and engineering teams to improve equipment efficiency and resolve issues promptly.

Requirements

• Technical training, trade school certification, an Associate degree in Engineering Technology, or equivalent industry experience.
• Hands-on experience designing, assembling, and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, preferably in manufacturing equipment.
• Familiarity with fabrication or machine shop processes and comfort learning and using programming languages.
• Ability to handle small and fragile components with attention to detail.
• Welding experience is desirable; welding certifications are not mandatory.
• Willingness to travel extensively to customer sites, 75% or more of the time.
