Specialist, Container Management (Automotive Logistics)

Location: Blythewood, South Carolina, United States; 4–5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings and occasional travel.

Annual base salary: $95,000–$120,000, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Develop, design, and implement planning concepts and projects for container management.
• Support suppliers with transportation, infrastructure, packaging, scheduling, and equipment processes for a reliable supply of empty containers.
• Schedule pallets, containers, and transport frames while tracking delivery backlogs.
• Identify supply chain risks, manage bottleneck control, and coordinate countermeasures across departments.
• Maintain transport-container inventory data, process complaints, initiate inventories, and steer empty containers between Scout and supplier plants.
• Build constructive communication with suppliers and complete additional responsibilities in compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience in automotive production and logistics, including inbound or outbound logistics, supplier management, container management, JIT, or JIS.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
• Strong technical skills in networking, hardware, software systems, and process design.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work in the Blythewood office 4–5 days per week and travel as needed.
