Material Planning Manager (Automotive)

Location: Troy, Michigan, United States. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis. Travel of up to 10% is required.

Annual base pay: $123,339–$185,009 USD.

What you will do

• Manage Material and Inventory Analysts responsible for service parts and accessories inventory.
• Plan inventory and set safety stocks to maintain high fulfillment rates for customers, service partners, and delivery hubs.
• Place and track supplier purchase orders through the ERP system.
• Work with suppliers to improve lead times, minimum order quantities, rounding values, and purchase data.
• Monitor inventory and expedite or de-expedite orders based on actual demand.
• Lead continuous improvement in material planning, inventory control, and supplier relationships.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, material management, operations, or a related field is preferred; equivalent professional experience may substitute.
• 8+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or business management, preferably in material management.
• 2+ years of management experience in supply chain, logistics, or business management is required.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and material-management skills.
• Proficiency with ERP systems, project-management tools, Microsoft Excel, and data-analysis tools such as SmartSheet, Tableau, Alteryx, or scripting tools.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds and stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience in startup environments and building operational tools and processes.
• Experience across warehousing, material management, business planning, and financial analysis.
