Location: Hooksett, New Hampshire, United States. Hybrid work across office, substations, construction sites, and field locations around energized electrical equipment. Travel within Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire, including occasional overnight travel, is required. Emergency, after-hours, and storm restoration support is required.
Salary: $82,800–$92,000 annually, plus potential incentive.

What you will do
- Provide day-to-day and emergency technical support for substation operations, including test-result evaluation, troubleshooting, specifications, and solution recommendations.
- Design, program, test, troubleshoot, and support installation of electrical, electronic, microprocessor-based, and electromechanical systems.
- Develop technical specifications for substation, SCADA, communications, and automation equipment.
- Support maintenance activities such as testing, repair, infrared inspection analysis, corrective actions, and regulatory documentation.
- Support capital projects through field guidance, design modifications, technical recommendations, and on-site troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with engineering, projects, operations, field crews, and internal and external customers to improve safety, reliability, and equipment performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 0–3 years of related experience.
- Knowledge of power-system engineering, transmission and distribution operations, substation automation, and field communications.
- Working knowledge of IEC 61850, communication protocols, routable network design, and network topology.
- Familiarity with substation equipment, electrical protection and control systems, technical drawings, specifications, procedures, and test documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, customer-focus, and organizational skills.
- Valid motor vehicle operator’s license required; ability to obtain Thermographer Certification required.
Nice to have
- Experience with engineering design.
- PLC communication and program configuration experience.
- Familiarity with NERC Reliability and Cyber Security CIP standards.
- Knowledge of utility regulatory processes and requirements in New Hampshire.
