Senior Backend Engineer (Data Infrastructure)

Location: New York City (Hybrid)

Compensation: $180,000 – $220,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Architect and maintain large-scale data pipelines for startup, people, and investment data.
• Own the data quality bar, including coverage, freshness, and accuracy.
• Develop dynamic, LLM-powered agentic workflows for data extraction and reconciliation.
• Work across the backend, databases, search indices, and GraphQL APIs to build product features.
• Partner with GTM, Product, and Design teams to ship new data-driven products.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as a software engineer with a track record of building data infrastructure at scale.
• Strong product sense and ability to reason about data structure and user utility.
• Experience designing data models, indexing strategies, and serving paths.
• Proven ability to wrangle raw, messy, real-world data into structured, reliable formats.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment in New York City.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLM-powered extraction, search systems, or agentic workflows.
• Background in venture capital, private markets, or company intelligence data.
