TL;DR
Sr. Finance Manager (MedTech): Leading cost accounting, inventory management, and operational finance for supply chain and production operations in a regulated medical device business with an accent on standard costing, ERP systems, and manufacturing performance analysis. Focus on implementing NetSuite inventory and cost accounting processes, optimizing costs, monitoring manufacturing variances, and supporting accurate U.S. GAAP reporting.

Location: Carlsbad, California, United States

Annual base salary: $160,000–$175,000

What you will do

  • Lead the full-cycle cost accounting function, including standard costing for purchased and manufactured components.
  • Co-lead NetSuite inventory ERP and cost accounting implementation, upgrades, and related process improvements.
  • Deliver operational reports and KPIs, identify cost optimization opportunities, and provide actionable performance recommendations.
  • Support operating plans, forecasts, and strategic planning for manufacturing operations, inventory, and cost of goods sold.
  • Manage inventory quantity and location tracking across raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods.
  • Monitor manufacturing variances, support financial close and audits, and coordinate cost and inventory matters between Operations and Accounting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in cost accounting, operational finance, or plant controllership.
  • Hands-on experience with inventory accounting, standard costing, and variance analysis.
  • Experience with outsourced manufacturing models and ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, QAD, or similar.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data validation.

Nice to have

  • CPA, CMA, or MBA.
  • Experience in medical device or highly regulated manufacturing environments.
