What you will do
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to improve manufacturability, structural integrity, and fabrication processes.
- Build prototype and production hardware through rapid concept-to-test iterations.
- Operate manual machine tools, including drills, mills, lathes, and cutting equipment.
- Fabricate sheet-metal components using forming, shearing, rolling, and stamping techniques.
- Perform GTAW welding, brazing, soldering, mechanical fastening, fluid-system plumbing, and harness assembly.
- Maintain test facilities, equipment, instrumentation, inventory, and safe, clean work areas while troubleshooting operational issues.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on fabrication experience in aerospace, automotive, motorsports, or fast-paced manufacturing.
- Demonstrated welding ability across multiple alloys; certifications are advantageous.
- Experience with pressurized and fluid systems, instrumentation, inspection equipment, and calibrated precision tools.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and electrical schematics.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of structural principles, materials, and joining methods.
- Ability to work autonomously, maintain high quality standards, lift 35 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in restricted spaces and on raised platforms.
