Structures Technician (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California; successful candidates must be located near Long Beach or Los Angeles. The role uses a hybrid environment, with some work required on site.

Salary: $32–$45/hour for Technician Level 1, $40–$55/hour for Level 2, $50–$70/hour for Level 3, and $65–$85/hour for Senior Technician.

What you will do

• Build, fit, assemble, and install precision structural and mechanical spacecraft components from engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Integrate mechanical structures into space vehicles with fluids and propulsion, avionics, mechanical, structural, test, manufacturing, and quality teams.
• Perform precision drilling, countersinking, reaming, and riveting to specified tolerances and NAS standards.
• Install and verify rivets, bolts, hand fasteners, and other structural fasteners according to aerospace torque and fastening requirements.
• Help establish and scale a new manufacturing facility while maintaining high quality standards.

Requirements

• Technical degree or certification in a relevant field.
• Experience assembling spacecraft or other space products appropriate to the technician level.
• Demonstrated strength in structural and mechanical assembly and integration.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, process sheets, and work instructions.
• Experience with electrostatic-discharge-sensitive work, foreign-object-and-debris-critical environments, and cleanroom operations.
• Ability to work near Long Beach or Los Angeles, perform some on-site work, lift 25 pounds, and work in constrained or confined spaces. ITAR eligibility requires U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain the required U.S. authorizations.

Nice to have

• Machining and component manufacturing experience.
• Experience operating industrial or large machinery.
• Experience with cranes, lifting operations, and rigging.
