Software Engineer - Backend (Fintech)

Location: NYC Head Office, on-site

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Design and scale foundational backend systems for speed, reliability, and security.
• Architect APIs and shape data models for core financial products.
• Optimize infrastructure performance as the platform and customer base grow.
• Build scalable products and applications from scratch.
• Collaborate with product and infrastructure teams to make product decisions and deliver customer impact.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience with modern web technologies and backend systems.
• Experience with Git, Node.js, GraphQL, web APIs, Docker, databases, Kubernetes, and microservices.
• Experience developing scalable products or applications from scratch.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Ability to make product decisions, communicate technical ideas clearly, and solve ambiguous engineering problems.
• Interest in building products for real users and working in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in payments, fintech, or fintech projects.
• Subject matter expertise in e-commerce.
• Contributions to open-source software.
