Software Engineer (TypeScript)

Location: Hybrid in New York, Tempe, or San Francisco; the NYC office requires attendance three days per week

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate backend services, APIs, data pipelines, and enterprise integrations.
• Develop and ship production-grade TypeScript features from specification through deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
• Contribute to system design decisions involving scalability, reliability, security, performance, and concurrency.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to turn ambiguous problems into technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, on-call rotations, and the development of engineering practices.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering backend systems to production.
• Strong TypeScript proficiency or deep experience with a typed language and the ability to ramp up quickly in TypeScript.
• Experience designing and operating systems with real traffic, data volumes, and users.
• Knowledge of REST/gRPC APIs, relational and NoSQL databases, messaging systems, caching, and concurrency.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure; Docker or Kubernetes; and modern CI/CD workflows.
• Production operations experience with logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and incident response.

• Experience at an early- or growth-stage startup.
• Fintech, wealth management, or other regulated-environment experience.
• AI/ML infrastructure, LLM-powered products, OCR, or document processing experience.
• Experience integrating with financial institution platforms.
• Exposure to Node, NestJS, tRPC, Prisma, or PostgreSQL.
