Software Verification Engineer (Photonics)

Location: Onsite in Ottawa, Canada

Salary: 84,650–114,550 CAD annually, with potential bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits.

What you will do

• Design and implement firmware, software, and optical test and verification strategies for products moving from design into production.
• Create, document, review, automate, and manually execute functional, performance, and regression test plans and cases.
• Record test progress and results, develop scalable test solutions, and validate products using Agile methodologies.
• Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to align product requirements.
• Integrate AI tools into test and characterization workflows.
• Provide technical guidance and share verification expertise with junior team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of embedded product verification experience.
• Experience with Python or C# and a solid understanding of software testing methodologies.
• Experience designing and executing test plans and cases, including test automation involving devices under test and test equipment.
• Knowledge of Linux, Bash scripting, server deployment, configuration, logging, and monitoring tools.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience testing optical components and subsystems for optical communications.
• Experience with LAG/LACP, LLDP, sZTP, BootZ, L3 ECMP, IP, UDP/TCP, DHCP, Layer 2 Ethernet/MAC, or gRPC.
• Knowledge of OpenConfig, SNMP, or gNMI management interfaces.
