Industrial Hygienist

Location: Benson, North Carolina; the role begins in Durham, North Carolina and is expected to move to Benson after completion of the new facility. Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.

What you will do

• Design and establish the industrial hygiene program and enterprise-wide standards aligned with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Develop exposure sampling, monitoring, employee health testing, PPE, and ergonomics programs.
• Conduct chemical, noise, area, and personal air monitoring and compare results with OSHA, regulatory, and ACGIH limits.
• Perform PPE effectiveness audits, ergonomic assessments, respirator fit testing, and incident-related evaluations.
• Coordinate audiometric and pulmonary testing, interface with regulatory agencies, and prepare reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in industrial hygiene, environmental science or engineering, occupational health science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of technical experience in an industrial environment and 5+ years developing complex exposure assessments and monitoring plans.
• Experience with area and personal air monitoring, noise surveys, ergonomic assessments, JHAs, and HASPs.
• Knowledge of industrial processes and hazards associated with chemicals, biological agents, and physical stressors.
• Ability to work in a respirator and protective clothing, communicate effectively, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Must be a U.S. Person due to access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.

Nice to have

• Experience building programs or working in a startup, industrial, or manufacturing company.
• Experience in the powdered metal industry.
• First aid, CPR, or AED certification.
• OSHA 30 certification.
