VP, Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) (Advanced Manufacturing)

Annual base salary: $230,000–$287,800, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and lead an enterprise-wide safety management operating framework, metrics, near-miss program, incident investigations, workers’ compensation processes, and executive risk reviews.
• Oversee safety systems for titanium and Inconel material handling, combustible dust, multi-kilowatt laser systems, robotics, machine guarding, and powered industrial vehicles.
• Standardize safety-critical work instructions and operational SOPs across factories while partnering with engineering and production teams.
• Lead renewable energy, waste minimization, restricted-substance mapping, automated environmental monitoring, waste tracking, and industrial air-quality permitting.
• Build a physical security function covering access controls, badging, perimeter protocols, ITAR boundaries, facilities, assets, and intellectual property.
• Direct ATF-related serialization, documentation, audit readiness, regulatory relationships, and the hiring and development of the HSSE team.

Requirements

• 8+ years of leadership experience in high-technology manufacturing, aerospace, defense, automotive, or a similar advanced industrial environment.
• Experience managing safety, environmental, and compliance programs across multiple facilities or a growing manufacturing footprint.
• Strong familiarity with OSHA frameworks, EPA environmental guidelines, industrial safety standards, powder safety, machine safety, and automated process safety.
• Experience with or strong exposure to NFPA combustible dust controls, ANSI laser safety protocols, or data-driven environmental reporting.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with shop-floor technicians, engineering teams, and executive leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred; advanced degrees and CSP or CHMM certifications are valued.

• Knowledge of defense-related physical security frameworks, ITAR boundaries, or ATF manufacturing compliance.
