Director of Engineering (Physical Security)

Location: El Segundo, California, United States; role based from the El Segundo headquarters

Salary: $203,000–$255,000 per year, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Equity Incentive Plan.

What you will do

• Manage a high-performing engineering organization of 3–4 squads across software and infrastructure product value streams.
• Mentor, lead, and grow engineers and engineering managers while supporting a Series B operating environment.
• Drive hiring strategy, close engineering talent, and manage performance cycles including coaching, leveling, and exits.
• Partner with Product leadership to translate the roadmap into executable engineering plans and lead prioritization and trade-off discussions.
• Build peer partnerships across Engineering and with Product, Sales, Marketing, and other functions.
• Define, measure, and manage team-performance metrics while contributing to code, design reviews, or incident response when needed.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience and 5+ years of leadership experience.
• 5+ years of production operations experience.
• Experience managing managers and engineers, including strong hiring-manager skills and a developed people-management philosophy.
• Experience supporting enterprise customers, including Fortune 500 or regulated-industry customers, with high-touch deployments and uptime expectations.
• Experience leading distributed teams across multiple time zones, including teams spanning the US, Europe, or LATAM.
• Strong debugging skills across distributed systems and microservices architectures, plus Agile/Kanban project-management skills.
