Director of Engineering (Mobile App Security)

Location: Leuven, Belgium; hybrid work with in-person leadership required

What you will do

• Lead and develop a team of Engineering Leads across agile R&D teams.
• Own predictable, high-quality product delivery and reliable software releases.
• Translate business requirements and security research into clear technical specifications.
• Collaborate with Product Management and the VP of Engineering on technical strategy and scalable architectures.
• Establish cross-team coding standards and testing practices.
• Balance research priorities with market needs while driving continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years managing managers.
• Experience scaling R&D organizations, setting performance goals, and delivering results through others.
• Strong fundamentals in Java or C++; low-level programming experience is a significant asset.
• Excellent English communication skills and willingness to provide in-person leadership in Leuven within a hybrid model.
