Analyst, Container Repair (Automotive)

Location: Blythewood, South Carolina, United States; 4–5 days per week in the office. Domestic and international travel is required approximately 5% of the time; a valid driver’s license and passport are required.

Salary: $70,000–$85,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Coordinate inspection, maintenance, refurbishment, repair, and production readiness of returnable containers, racks, pallets, and packaging assets.
• Manage external container repair vendors, including forecasts, capacity planning, quotations, scorecards, supplier reviews, and corrective actions.
• Monitor packaging fleet condition, utilization, availability, inventory, and repair status across production, warehouses, suppliers, and repair facilities.
• Investigate packaging failures and recurring damage using 5 Why, Fishbone, and 8D methodologies, partnering with Logistics, Manufacturing, Suppliers, and Packaging Engineering.
• Conduct quality inspections and audits to verify safety, ergonomic, operational, contractual, and industry-standard compliance.
• Develop KPIs, dashboards, and management reports covering availability, damage rates, repair lead times, costs, vendor performance, and fleet utilization; drive lifecycle and process improvements.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in supply chain, packaging operations, container management, manufacturing, or material handling.
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may substitute.
• Knowledge of workplace safety standards, quality management systems, audit processes, corrective action methodologies, and operational or regulatory compliance.
• Strong analytical thinking, root cause investigation, process optimization, cost reduction, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work 4–5 days per week onsite in Blythewood, South Carolina and participate in in-person meetings and company events.
• Valid driver’s license and passport required; approximately 5% domestic and international travel.

Nice to have

• Automotive manufacturing experience, including returnable packaging systems, container design, packaging engineering, or material flow planning.
• Experience managing container repair vendors or packaging service providers.
• Knowledge of rack repair, welding repairs, metal fabrication, packaging refurbishment, and container lifecycle management.
